Drainage instead of sealing – a paver that loves water.
The innovative wienerberger Aquata paver not only looks good with its six color options – it’s also a real benefit for the environment, as it was specifically developed for water-permeable paving surfaces. It improves the microclimate, can save on wastewater fees, and helps to use building space more efficiently.
Aquata is available in six striking colors: Magma, Eros, Lotis, Plutos, Artemis, and Doris – from light gray and anthracite to reddish brown and classic brick red. This makes it ideal for impressively enhancing all private and public spaces, such as patios, driveways, paved fire evacuation routes, pedestrian and bicycle paths in public areas, and parking lots.
Passing the timeless Aquata, rainwater naturally flows through the wide gravel joints back into the water cycle. The percolating water stabilizes the groundwater level, the moisture stored in the soil is available to plants during dry periods, and provides cooling through evaporation on hot days.
Furthermore, it is made entirely of ecologically pure, natural raw materials, requires no binding agents, releases no pollutants into the environment, has a virtually unlimited shelf life, and is easily recycled.
In living spaces, more and more areas are being completely or partially sealed, i.e., built over in such a way that rainwater can no longer seep away unhindered. Instead, rainwater is usually drained via the public sewer system. Because this is costly and disrupts the natural water cycle, municipalities are putting a stop to sealing through development regulations and creating further incentives to use permeable traffic areas through stormwater fees. With permeable clinker paving, builders can save money, depending on their fee regulations.
The Aquata features six-millimeter-wide spacers and is installed with a recommended joint width of seven millimeters. This means that the joints represent approximately eleven percent of the total area, about twice as much as with conventionally installed paving. If the wide joints are filled with suitable gravel, water drains away quickly and easily.
The 6 mm thick spacers facilitate installation with 7 mm extra-wide joints.
Because even heavy rain flows easily through the joints, drainage is straightforward.
Thanks to its 62 or 80 mm height, Aquata can withstand horizontal loads from starting, braking, and cornering as well as conventional 52 mm high clinker bricks, despite the wide joints.
The six expressive colors Magma, Eros, Lotis, Plutos, Artemis, and Doris impressively showcase almost any surface.
Evaporating rainwater cools the air in summer.
Groundwater reserves are replenished through infiltration on-site.
Rainwater that seeps into the ground does not burden sewage treatment plants, and flooding caused by overloaded sewers is prevented.
Aquata offers all the advantages of all wienerberger pavers: It is natural, sustainable, frost-resistant, slip-resistant, colorfast, and extremely durable.
