The larger the roof tile, the faster the roof covering and the fewer roof tiles need to be purchased.
The rule of thumb: the larger the roof tile, the faster the installation. There is simple logic behind this. With small roof tiles (with a small batten distance), more battens must be attached to the roof. In addition, the roofer must also remove more clay roof tiles from the pallets, bring them up and attach them to the roof. You can reduce this by working with larger roof tiles.
Generally, larger roof tiles are slightly more expensive per piece than smaller roof tiles. On the other hand, they are installed faster. Usually, the final invoice will be cheaper by working with larger roof tiles instead of smaller roof tiles.
You can make smaller roofs look bigger by using small roof tiles. With large roofs, you can spread the waves and lines wider by laying large roof tiles. Or you can make the lines more lively with smaller roof tiles on a large roof.
